Youth Mission Trip (June 2010)
In June, eleven St. Luke youth traveled to Accident in western Maryland to lend their helping hands to a long list of projects. They scraped, they painted, they weeded, they power washed, they cut down and trimmed trees, they spackled and sanded walls, they dusted --- a lot of youthful energy was expended from June 20 to 25. Special thanks to the anonymous donor who yearly funds our mission trips. Without you these precious youth would be hard pressed to engage in these great learning experiences.
Youth Mission Trip (June 2009)
During the week of June 22nd to 26th, A.R.K. (Act of Random Kindness) was performed by 10 of our youth and several adults from St. Luke's who participated in a Mission Trip to New Oxford, PA, where they gave their time and energy scraping and painting a two-story home for a senior citizen. The youth worked hard and managed to have fun, too. We are very proud of them and their accomplishments. To complete this job in five days seemed impossible, but working as a team the impossible was made possible.
Thank you to all who gave of their personal time and efforts to see this A.R.K. to completion.
Souper Bowl of Caring (February 2009)
The 907 club raised $401.78 in donations on Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday! Great thanks to all who opened their hearts to support this event. It is appreciated that you were able to endure the clanging of the soup pots following services - hopefully, your ears are not still ringing!!
The 907 club members will go on a shopping excursion to "STOCK" the Pantry for those in need (with this amount of money, it may take several different excursions!)
The club "kicked off" the Souper Bowl of Caring event, by enjoying breakfast SOUP at our meeting in January and we will enjoy a game of "BOWL"ing after our shopping excursion. Feel free to check with a club member to inquire which members received the title of being a super bowler!
Again - a tremendous thanks to all contributors and to the 907 members who participated in our game show skit and soup pot clanging!
